residents should check with their waste hauler for curbside recycling options West
side of county:
Falcon Waste &
Recycling, 1200 N. Rosefarm Rd. in Woodstock (815-334-8689). Currently accepting
cardboard, newspapers, magazines, metal, untreated wood, computers. Also
accepting carpeting from non-commercial customers. To be added in 2007: office
paper, food & beverage containers. Drop-off hours are M - F from 8am-4pm.
They ask that you call their office when you are on the way, so that they can be
sure to have someone ready to assist in the proper placement of the recyclables.
Woodstock
area:
Behr Woodstock, 13914
Washington St. in Woodstock (815-206-5511). Call for drop-off hours. Metals
only.
Woodstock and Harvard
elementary schools have Abitibi (green and yellow) large bins in school parking
lots for drop-off. All types of paper. NO CARDBOARD. McHenry
area: Aid Association for Lutherans drop off, Zion Lutheran Church (next to Jewel-Osco), 4206 W. Rt. 120 in McHenry (815-385-2853). Contact: Curtis Bremer. 24 hour drop-off. Aluminum cans, all types of paper, cardboard. NO PLASTIC BOTTLES OR GLASS.
Defenders McHenry Drive. During the month of December, our recycling drive in McHenry
will be conducted from 9am-1pm on December 9 and 23. The drive is held in the parking lot of the Metra train
station on Main Street. For the
months of January, February and March 2007, the McHenry drive will be conducted
on the second Saturday of each month only.
